DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as a classic massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more physical and focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension and specific knots.  Using a variety of muscle release techniques, your therapist will work within your pleasure/pain threshold to help you let go of chronic tension.

ZEN SHIATSU ACUPRESSURE

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork.  Like acupuncture, acupressure is based on the holistic system of Chinese Medicine, where illness results from imbalances in the natural flow of energy, or qi through the body.   Acupressure uses finger and palm pressure to energetic pathways, called meridians to improve the flow of qi.  Massage techniques like tapping, squeezing, rubbing, and pressure are applied along the meridians to release energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of qi resulting in improved overall health.

CHI NEI TSANG

Chi Nei Tsang is an ancient Chinese abdominal massage that works to detoxify the internal organs by moving lymphatic stagnation and improving elimination.  Unprocessed (“undigested”) emotions are often stored in our digestive system waiting to be addressed.  Chi Nei Tsang (CNT) treatments can assist in the release and clarification of emotions, helping us to grow and evolve.  Because it addresses the visceral structures and positioning of internal organs, CNT can help organs function better as well as correct postural problems, such as low back pain, resulting from visceral imbalances.
